About Nate Bagley

Nate started his journey to unlocking the secrets of epic relationships back in 2012 when he and his friend Melissa went on a cross-country road trip with the goal of interviewing America’s most in-love couples. Since then, he’s given a TEDx talk, his podcast has been downloaded over 1 million times. He’s built and sold a date-in-a-box subscription business. And he’s worked with some of the top names in the relationship industry. Nate believes Roommate Syndrome is a feature of long-term romantic relationships, not a bug. It’s there to teach you how to outgrow your problems and limitations. And as you change and evolve, your partner will be forced to change and evolve with you.

Nate’s Podcast

Insights:

Nate hopes that this webinar provided insight for how listeners can change their perceptions and assumptions of their partner and allow themselves and their relationships to change with time. To do this, he hopes listeners will find ways to strengthen how they know, like and trust their partner by practicing consistency and reframing what they would view as negative to positive.

Invites:

  • Reframe something that has been bothering you about your partner like Nate did with thinking his wife was messy. Do this by:
  • Reflecting on something that has been bothering you about your partner.
  • Discover why this is bothering you.
  • Take a minute to think about the situation of your partner and why they reacted this way.
  • Give you partner the benefit of the doubt
  • “Look to the future” and instead of providing criticism to your partner, think about how you can reframe why your partner does this
  • Go tell you partner the principle you reframed. For example, Nate could have said to his wife “I love how you care about your appearance and take care of your body.”
  • After listening to this podcast, write down 10 ways you can your partner can strength any “weak roots.” Sit down with your partner this week and discuss why these roots are weak and how you can strengthen them together. Make a plan of action.
  • Practice the 20:10 positive interaction rule
  • Tonight, write down 2 positive things for each negative thing you and your partner have experienced in the last week. If the ratio is off, go and make some positive memories with your partner by going on a date night this week.
