In this Episode

In this episode of the Stronger Marriage Connection podcast, Dr. Dave Schramm and Dr. Liz Hale welcome back Casey and Meygan Caston of Marriage 365 to talk about their new book, The Marriage Habit. They explain why strong marriages do not happen by accident and introduce the idea of a “marriage operating system”—a set of intentional habits that helps couples stay connected, communicate better, and repair faster. Casey and Meygan share practical tools couples can start using right away, including the unsolicited apology, love lists, the known position, the 62-second blessing, and weekly marriage check-ins.

The opinions, findings, conclusions, and recommendations expressed in this podcast do not necessarily reflect the views of the Utah Marriage Commission.”

Insights
Casey's

Success in marriage, like success anywhere else, comes from being proactive and intentional. If you want to win where it matters most, you have to create regular rhythms and structures for connection, even when it feels unromantic. Choosing intentionality over comfort and convenience is what helps a relationship grow.

Megan's

Don’t feel ashamed if you don’t know what you’re doing in marriage—most people don’t. Wanting a good marriage is a great start. The key is taking action, learning new habits, and remembering that there are resources, solutions, and people ready to help.

Liz’s

The Marriage Habit handbook is excellent, and one key takeaway is this: in relationships, my response is my responsibility.

Dave's

“Specific is terrific.” Love lists help partners clearly share what makes them feel loved, removing guesswork and making it easier to show appreciation.

About Casey and Megan

Casey and Megan Caston are the co-founders of Marriage365—one of the largest online communities helping couples build a relationship that actually lasts. Their story isn’t a “we found love and it was easy” story. Only 3 years into marriage they were staring divorce in the face, but that crisis became a turning point.

Megan leaned into a simple (and brutal) truth: “If you want a better marriage, it starts with a better you.” She focused on healing, boundaries, and daily habits—small shifts that created massive change. Together, the Castons got tired of approaches that felt slow, confusing, and expensive, and started building what they wished existed: clear, repeatable tools that help real people win at home.

That mission became Marriage365.

Today, Casey and Megan have authored five books, lead global marriage retreats, have an thriving coaching business, and created the largest library of relationship education videos through their mobile app, which has helped 100,000+ couples reconnect, rebuild trust, and reignite their friendship.
