Rural Communities Opportunity Grant

The Go Utah Center for Rural Development is excited to announce the new Rural Communities Opportunity Grant. The grant is available to all rural Utah communities.

2022 Applications: Applications are open from October 17, 2022 to November 18, 2022

Eligibility

Rural communities elegible for the grant:
  • Counties of the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth class
  • Cities, towns and metro townships located in counties of the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth class, and
  • Municipalities with a population of 10,000 or less in counties of the second class

Grant Use

The grant can help with economic development needs, which may include:

  • Business recruitment, development, and expansion
  • Workforce training and development, and
  • Infrastructure and capital facilities imrovements for business development

 


Incentives

Applicants may receive a grant of up to $600,000. Because the Rural Communities Opportunity Grant is subject to competitive review against other rural community applications and has limited overall funding, applications require significant planning, preparation, and budgeting. We encourage applicants to start the application process early.
