Partnering Companies
Your company’s participation in the Utah Works program gives you free access to the following professional development courses:
Full Courses
These are the full-version courses offered by USU Extension and will include professionals from other companies. The application form has a field for you to enter a participation code that will enable you to take the course free of charge, as part of the partnership agreement. You must register with your participation code to waive the course fee. If you don’t already have the code, please email support@roi.usu.edu.
Duration: 4 weeks, 1 hour-long workshop per week
Independent classwork: moderate, 3-5 hours per week
Description: This course is designed to engage you, as an organizational leader or manager, in appropriate techniques, tools, and resources for the development and leadership of a remote work program. You'll also learn various approaches to managing remote employees and designing remote jobs.
Duration: 4 weeks, 1 hour-long workshop per week
Independent classwork: intensive, 10-12 hours per week
Description: This course provides you with the essential training and skill development fundamental to qualifying for sales and customer service roles, whether remote, hybrid, or in person. You will also learn various approaches to effective communication, listening, and negotiation.
Stand-alone Workshops
These workshops are exclusively for employees of partnering organizations in the Utah Works grant program. No participation code is required on the registration form but the email address you use must be from your company.
Dates: Jan. 15 and 22, 1 p.m.
Duration: 2 weeks, 1 hour-long workshop per week
Independent classwork: light, less than 1 hour per week
Description: This course equips leaders with the tools to effectively manage, motivate, and connect with distributed teams. Participants will learn strategies for fostering collaboration, maintaining engagement, and achieving team goals in virtual work environments.
