The Mountains and Plains Thriving Community Collaborative is one of 17 centers in the EPA’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (EJ TCTAC) Program, serving Region 8. MaPTCC supports Utah’s communities—rural areas, small towns, and cities, including the 8 federally recognized Tribal Nations—by helping groups initiate, secure funding for, and implement local projects focused on environmental and energy justice.

Frequently Asked Questions
MaPTCC serves the entirety of EPA Region 8, which includes Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming including Native American reservations situated in the region.
Any group that is not a for-profit entity, including local or state governments, tribal governments and organizations, community-based nonprofits, grassroots environmental justice groups, individuals from environmental justice communities, disadvantaged businesses, unions and workers’ organizations, and faith-based organizations and churches.
MaPTCC helps organizations access funding for local projects and initiatives in:
