Deciding where to go on a honeymoon can be a daunting choice. You want it to be perfect and memorable. Well, I’m here to tell you that you do not have to go super far and spend a lot to make your honeymoon memorable! Utah is full of fun, beautiful, and budget friendly honeymoon destinations! In this blog, I will share 10 places in Utah that are great honeymoon destinations! Hopefully, you’ll gain a better picture of some of the most beautiful places to visit as newlyweds. Let’s get into it! 

Capitol Reef National Park 

This national park located in south-central Utah full of red cliffs, desert rock and open sky. Capitol Reef is a wonderful place to spend time outdoors exploring, experiencing this beautiful earth! There are numerous hotels in the nearby town of Torrey, all of which can easily cater to the honeymoon experience. Enjoy a peaceful, slow paced, nature focused honeymoon as you explore the many things Capitol Reef has to offer, such as hikes down washes and the beautiful fruit trees! 

Bryce Canyon National Park: 

One of Utah’s five national parks, located in southern Utah, Bryce Canyon is known for having some of the darkest skies in the country. If you’re looking for a place to stargaze long into the night, consider Bryce Canyon! The red rock formations and desert terrain of this national park is a majestic sight. If you love to spend time outdoors this is a wonderful place to visit! Walk through the hoodoos and admire the breathtaking views of the Grand Staircase from afar. A bonus is its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park, making it possible to visit both parks in one vacation!  

Canyonlands National Park 

A park full of deep red rock canyons as far as the eye can see. Canyonlands has lots of opportunities for hiking and biking! Since it is full of canyons this makes it the perfect place to go stargazing! This park is not very developed, so prepare to rough it a little bit. The nearby town of Moab offers plenty of hotels and resorts, vibrant restaurants, and experiences for young couples. A romantic thing you could do is set up a late picnic where you can watch the sunset as you have dinner and wait for the stars to come out!  

Arches National Park 

This park's name explains it perfectly. It is full of red rock arches and other formations that are quite eye catching! There are many hikes, ranging from beginner to advanced, throughout the park. Consider checking our Delicate Arch and the Devil’s Garden trail! This is such a fun place to explore! It is in the fun town of Moab and only a 20-minute drive from Arches National Park!  

Moab 

This city is full of adventure. It is home to Arches National Park and only a 40 minute drive to Canyonland National Park. Moab is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts! Biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, and ATV trails litter Moab There is so much exploring to do in this area of Utah! Downtown Moab is also a place that should be on your Moab itinerary. It is full of fun souvenir shops, restaurants and galleries displaying local art.  

St. George 

A city full of fun opportunities and diverse activities, St. George is located near Zion National Park, a park full of stunning views and lots of hiking terrain. The backcountry of St. George is beautiful! Lucky for you there are many companies who offer guided ATV tours of the desert rocks and sand dunes that can be found there! Also, do not forget to see if there are any shows happening at the Tuacahn amphitheater while you are there. You do not want to miss an opportunity to experience the amphitheater that is tucked away in the red cliffs of southern Utah.  

Park City 

This is a place where you will never run out of trail. There are biking and walking trails weaved throughout the entire city and neighboring ones as well! Located nearby is Jordanelle Reservoir, creating a perfect opportunity for a day trip to the lake. If you decide to go to Park City, do not miss visiting Main Street. Main Street is full of beautiful old buildings hosting lots of little shops, restaurants, and art galleries! It is a perfect place to take a stroll and grab some lunch!  

Salt Lake City 

Salt Lake has plenty to offer. It is home to the LDS temple square, where in the winter, they string Christmas lights throughout the entire square! It has a large shopping mall, City Creek Center, which has a variety of stores and restaurants. If you are a cheesecake fan, make sure to stop at The Cheesecake Factory in City Creek. Salt Lake City is also home to the capital building, which is on a hill with stunning views of the valley. This is a beautiful place to take a stroll or have a picnic! You can also get a guided tour of the capital building to learn more about its history and architecture.  

Sundance Resort 

A resort, located in the mountains near Provo, offers a blend of fun activities! If you love to ski or snowboard this resort has great trails for you to ride. If you are visiting in the summer, this resort has lots of hiking, nature trails and scenic outlooks to enjoy! Sundance is known for its enthusiasm for the arts and has art galleries and workshops for visitors to participate in. Another cool factor is that nearby streams offer a great opportunity for fly fishing enthusiasts! 

Bear Lake 

Although it is not Hawaii, Bear Lake has lots of fun water activities and a relaxing day on the beach waiting for you! If you are a water lover Bear Lake is a great honeymoon destination! You can spend the day playing on the beach and relaxing, then grab a famous raspberry shake on your way home! Bear Lake has much to offer besides water. The mountains surrounding it are full of beautiful hiking, biking, and four-wheeling trails!   


There are honeymoon destinations scattered across the entire state! Each one housing a variety of activities to enjoy and things to be discovered. It is important to remember not to stress too much about where you are going on your honeymoon. At the end of the day, what really matters is the quality time you are getting to spend with your significant other!
