Biography
I developed a passion for public health education while attending the University of Florida. My career began in 2006 in a rural Florida county, then overseas to Eastern Europe (Moldova), and back to Florida as an Extension faculty for 9 years before joining USU Extension's HEART Initiative. No matter the location or position, public health is my calling.
Teaching Interests
Interests include nutrition, wellness, and food safety. In the current position, I am interested in assessing how healthy eating, physical activity, and other healthy behaviors assist in decreasing or preventing chronic pain, and how developing and utilizing those skills are essential in substance use recovery programs. Other areas of interest are workplace injury prevention, inmate education and resource connection, and resilience building.
