Your hub for organic production in Utah
Utah State University Extension provides research-based information, technical assistance, and connections to specialists to support farmers, ranchers, and processors interested in learning more or transitioning to organic production. Certified organic production meets USDA standards for crop production, livestock care, and the handling and processing of organic products, with compliance verified by a USDA-accredited certifier. While USU Extension does not provide organic certification services, we help producers explore organic practices, understand the transition process, and access research and resources to make informed decisions for their operations.

Continuing the work of TOPP (Transition to Organic Partnership Program)
The USDA Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) brought together farmers, mentors, and agricultural organizations to strengthen Utah’s organic farming community and support producers transitioning to organic. Although the program has concluded, its impact lives on through the connections built, knowledge shared, and resources developed.
