Do you want a career in equine-assisted services?

The Equine-Assisted Services Institutional Certificate of Proficiency (ICP) gives you a strong foundation in the field of equine-assisted services. In this program, you explore how horses are incorporated into therapy, education, and adaptive equine sports to support people’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Coursework and hands-on labs focus on the principles behind equine-assisted services, the human–animal bond, evaluating and preparing horses for this work, and the basics of teaching horsemanship skills. This preparation can help you pursue industry credentials such as PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) or Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL), or bring horses into future careers in health care and education. Reach out to our ICP instructor for more information!
