Master Food Preserver Training

Become a Master Food Preserver: Learn food safety, canning basics, pressure canning, salsa and jam making, pickling and more!

Do you enjoy the art and science of food preservation and canning? Are you interested in updating your skills? Would you like to develop expertise in food preservation? If yes, the Master Food Preserver training is for you!

This series includes hands-on, kitchen lab experiences where you will be canning 15-20 different recipes per group.

Register by June 21, 2024.

Pressure Canning Lid Testing Days

Our pressure canning testing days are Monday through Friday of each week. Mondays are free, Tuesday-Fridays there will be a $5.00 charge (cash or card accepted). No appointment is necessary. Items for rent are $2.00 per weekday for each.

What is the HEART Initiative?

The Health Extension: Advocacy, Research, and Teaching Initiative, also known as HEART is an active initiative through Utah State University Extension. This innovative program is aligned with National Cooperative Extension’s recently instituted essential focus area in health and wellness. HEART serves as a model of how Extension can join community partners to better address the health and wellness needs in our state. HEART brings unique academic resources into the community, partnering locally and nationally to address the opioid epidemic and other pressing public health issues.
