Center for Youth and Family Resilience
Building resilience skills that help youth, families, and schools thrive.
Our Mission
The Salt Lake County Center for Youth and Family Resilience supports families and their children by reinforcing and developing essential resilience skills needed to successfully face life's challenges. Our work provides youth, families, and schools with the tools and strategies to address vulnerabilities and strengthen the protective factors related to substance misuse and violence prevention.
Community-Driven
Our work is guided by the unique data and specific voices of the communities we serve. The topics we address are identified in conjunction with parents, schools, and community partners to ensure our interventions address the everyday challenges local families face.

Our Tiered Approach
Universal Prevention
Designed for all families and youth in the community. Programs like Raising Amazing Youth and Project CREST provide broad skill-building for families to help prevent issues before they arise.
Selective Prevention
Aimed at youth showing early signs of risk or experimental behavior toward substances. We use evidence-based programs to provide targeted skill-building and prevention strategies that support healthy lifestyles.
Indicated Prevention
The Granite Communities Youth Court is a restorative justice intervention for high-risk youth. Intensive skill-building and pro-social opportunities help young people redirect their lives and build lasting resilience.
