Description: The mission of the URI Master Gardener Program is to educate citizens in environmentally sound horticulture practices through the dissemination of factual, science- based information. With over 600 trained volunteer educators, the URI Master Gardener Program utilizes the train-the-trainer approach to amplify the impact of Cooperative Extension in Rhode Island and surrounding areas. Through our demonstration gardens and educational services, URI Master Gardeners connect the resources and knowledge base of the Land Grant University system to the people who need them.
