Description: Michigan State University Sea Grant created the Michigan Clean Boats, Clean Waters program for volunteers which was modeled after Wisconsin’s successful program. Since then it has evolved into a Volunteer driven program that now trains local volunteer leaders to work locally to solicit and train volunteers that in turn will educate boaters and other water sport enthusiasts to inspect and clean their equipment to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
