Description:

Plate 1378X. Yankee Meadows Reservoir 1937 – 2006 Viewed south across Yankee Meadows Reservoir. Sidney Peaks (11,060 ft) are in the distance. The dam has been rebuilt and the original camera station removed by construction, so the retake was made from the high cut-bank above the road. Conifers have increased, while aspen has declined. Many of the older spruce, though, were recently killed by insects and disease. Pinyon and juniper have also increased - - photo right edge across the lake. A boat ramp and other recreational facilities have been built by the Forest Service.
