Plate 188X. Upper Valley 1943 - 2003 Viewed southeast in Upper Valley after the area had been root-plowed and reseeded by the Forest Service to improve range conditions. Sagebrush and rubber rabbitbrush, however, have since reinvaded the site, while pinyon, juniper, and ponderosa pine have increased on the distant hillside. Horsebrush (Tetradymia canescens) and green rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus) are also present, as is needle and thread grass.
