Description:

Plate 878X. Upper Telegraph Wash 1967 – 2005 Viewed northeast to the Vermilion Cliffs in upper Telegraph Wash east of Kanab, Utah. The area in the initial image had been root-plowed and reseeded by BLM to eliminate sagebrush and improve range conditions. BLM also installed a water pipeline to support livestock grazing. Sagebrush, however, has reinvaded the site, decreasing forage production. Pinyon and juniper have also started to reinvade. The original negative is damaged. Pictured in the retake is Worth Brown of Kanab, Utah, who grazes cattle on this allotment.
