Plate 50. TWIN LAKES: ca. 1925 - 1999 The condition of the range was much better in 1999 than in 1925 (see Plates 47 - 49). Grasses were more abundant and riparian vegetation obscured much of the open water. The shrubs on the distant hillside are oak brush (Quercus gambelii), serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolia), chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), snowberry (Symphoricarpos sp.) and mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius). Part of the area was burned in the 1980's.
