Plate 10. TWIN CREEKS: 1935 - 1995 A Forest Service Ranger Station, YCC camp, several summer homes, a new lodge, paved highway, and a parking lot have been added to the Utah Fish and Game buildings seen in the 1935 photo. Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) has thickened and aspen (Populus tremuloides) has matured increasing in height since the first 1935 photo. The lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) right center were planted by the Forest Service in 1937. Spruce (Picea sp.) Have increased markedly along Twin Creeks and are displacing the original willows (Salix spp.), although some of the spruce may have been planted. The conifers on the distant hillside have increased in height and density, as has curlleaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius).
