Tropic Reservoir

1953

2003

Description:

Plate 155X. Tropic Reservoir 1953-2003 Viewed east across the upper end of Tropic Reservoir. The original photo shows the amount of sediment that was being deposited in the reservoir by the East Fork of the Sevier River. With improved management of the upper watershed, though, that no longer is the case. Conifers now block the original camera station, so the retake was made from the nearest open area, which is lower and closer to the reservoir shoreline. Ponderosa pine, pinyon, and juniper have all increased.
