Plate 160X. Tropic Reservoir ca. 1940-2003 Viewed east-northeast across the lower end of Tropic Reservoir. The retake was made from a slightly elevated position to document how ponderosa pine have become established in one of the old barrow pits that was used to construct the dam. Conifers have also increased on the distant hillsides despite repeated logging, as have pinyon and juniper.
