Plate 212. TORGERSON FLAT 1964-2000 Viewed west over Torgerson Flat along USFS Road 1612. In the early 1960’s, the Forest Service sprayed this area with herbicide to eliminate sagebrush, but the kill apparently was very spotty. This area has not been grazed by livestock for several years and all the aspen stands have successfully regenerated. There also was little evidence of elk or deer use on this site. Conifers have increased in the most distant aspen clone.
