Description:

Plate 1159X. Threemile Chaining 1971 – 2005 Viewed northeast on Threemile Creek northwest of Panguitch, Utah. The area was chained in 1975 and planted with crested and intermediate wheatgrass. Native needle and thread, side oats gramma, and western wheatgrass are also present. Snakeweed has declined but is still present, as are sagebrush and bitterbrush. Pinyon and juniper have begun to invade the seeding, but many of the offending trees were recently removed by hand. The area was grazed by cattle in 2005.
