Three Forks Pavant Mountains

Description:

Plate 296. THREE FORKS PAVANT MOUNTAINS 1964-2000 Plates 295 and 296 form a panorama from the southwest to northwest over the headwaters of Three Forks in the Pavant Mountains. Parts of this area were contour-trenched, gully-plugged, and reseeded by the Forest Service to control erosion. Conifers have increased in height and numbers. Most aspen stands, though, have failed to regenerate due to repeated browsing. Big sage, currant, and snowberry are the common shrubs. Curlleaf mountain mahogany is present on the far hillside. Plate 296 is viewed northwest.
