Description:

Plate 1457X. Spendlove Knoll 1957 – 2007 Plates 1456x and 1457x form a panorama taken from Spendlove Knoll on the Lower Kolob Plateau in Zion National Park. Plate 1457x is viewed south. Lee Valley is on the left, Cave Knoll (6,495 ft.) in the center, and Cave Valley on the right. The cleared fields in the retake are private inholdings. Pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, oak, mountain brush, and sagebrush have all increased. Woody vegetation now blocks the original photopoint, so the retake was made from the nearest open area.
