Plate 299. SOLITUDE GUARD STATION PAVANT MOUNTAINS 1962-2000 Viewed north to the road sign at the turn-off to the old Solitude Guard Station. The photopoint is on USFS Road 096. Conifers have increased and aspen has not regenerated due to excessive browsing. The conifers are white fir and the shrubs are snowberry.
