Description:

Plate 416X. Sheep Creek 1935 – 2004 Viewed west-southwest up Sheep Creek. The distant cliffs are in Bryce Canyon National Park. There has been a major change in the active channel, as might be expected after 70 years. Pinyon and juniper have increased, while sagebrush has declined. Some of the remaining Wyoming big sage has recently died during the extended drought. Four-wing saltbrush, bitterbrush, curlleaf mountain mahogany, birchleaf mountain mahogany, and desert holly are also present.
