Plate 4. SEVENMILE VALLEY: 1913 - 1995 Conifers have increased in height and density. The aspen (Populus tremuloides) on Mount Terrill has matured but is being invaded by conifers. Some willows (Salix spp.) Have declined, but others have increased. Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) has increase. These are all changes that would be expected in the absence of fire. The Mount Terrill Guard Station is in the group of spruce at right-center of photo.
