The photopoint is on USFS Road 096, and the old buildings have been removed or burnt. The ponderosa pine left of the original cabin were planted. Pinyon, juniper, oakbrush, and curlleaf mountain mahogany have all increased in height and density on the hillside. The area is still heavily grazed, as there is a spring just below where the cabin once stood. Sagebrush and rabbitbrush are also common.
