Plate 147 PUFFER LAKE: 1938 - 1999 The lake is on private land. The lake level has fallen considerably between 1938 and 1999. Conifers have increased while aspen (Populus tremuloides) has decreased. All of the aspen stands have been heavily invaded by conifers and none of the aspen clones have successfully regenerated.
