Plate 1289X. Pasture Point 1934 – 2006 Viewed southwest across Sheep Creek and Swamp Canyon from “Pasture Point” in Bryce Canyon National Park. Woody vegetation and forest fuels have increased dramatically. This includes ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, spruce, oakbrush, shinney-leaf manzanita, birchleaf mountain mahogany, and Utah serviceberry. The Park Service has conducted a small prescribed burn on the distant ridge.
