Plate 1218X. Oak Creek 1929 – 2006 Viewed west up Oak Creek to the Towers of the Virgin in Zion National Park. West Temple (7,810 ft) is on the left and the Altar of Sacrifice (7,505 ft) is on the right. Pinyon and juniper have increased as have blackbrush, Mormon tea, and cheatgrass, while native bunchgrasses have declined. Cottonwoods and boX elder have increased along Oak Creek.
