Plate 1283X. North Campground 1928 – 2006 Viewed northeast to the North Campground in Bryce Canyon National Park. The park roads have been realigned, widened, and paved, plus the campground has been redesigned. Most of the older ponderosa pines have died and been removed by the Park Service to insure public safety. Nevertheless, ponderosa pine has increased, as have bitterbrush and black sage. Native grasses have declined.
