Description:

Plate 459X. Nipple Lake 1948 – 2004 Viewed west across Nipple Lake to No Mans Mesa (7,200 ft.). Due to the extended drought, the water level has fallen and much of the former lake is now a wet meadow supporting a lush growth of sedges, rushes, and horsetails. The area is private property and is grazed yearly by cattle. Pinyon and juniper have increased in the distance.
