Plate 606X. Navajo Lake 1960 – 2004 Viewed south-southwest to Navajo Lake on the Dixie National Forest. Conifers, primarily ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, and spruce, have increased, while aspen has declined. Many mature spruce, however, have recently been killed by insects and disease. A new road right-of-way has been cleared on the far side of the lake. This view is from above the overlook on Utah Highway 14.
