Mount Terril

1915

2001

Description:

Plate 330. MOUNT TERRILL 1915-2001 Plates 329 and 330 form a panorama from the ridge northwest of Mount Terrill on the Fish Lake Plateau. Plate 330 is viewed south with Mount Terrill (11,547 ft) on the left and Mount Marvine (11,610 ft) in the distance. Conifers, primarily spruce, have increased in height and numbers, but upper treeline appears unchanged. Unlike the original, dead trees are absent in the retake. The shrubs on the hillside nearest the camera are currant and they appear to have increased. Plant cover also appears to have increased. This area is no longer grazed by sheep, and cattle seldom make it this far up the mountain. Elk sign, however, was abundant.
