Mount Terril

1915

2001

Description:

Plate 329. MOUNT TERRILL 1915-2001 Plates 329 and 330 form a panorama from the ridge northwest of Mount Terrill on the Fishlake Plateau. Plate 329 is viewed southeast to Mount Terrill (11,547 ft). The peak in the distance (photo left center) is Hilgard Mountain (11,533 ft). Conifers, primarily spruce, have increased in height and numbers, but upper treeline appears unchanged. Unlike the original, dead trees are absent in the retake. The shrubs on the hillside nearest the camera are currant and they appear to have increased. Plant cover also appears to have increased. This area is no longer grazed by sheep, and cattle seldom make it this far up the mountain. Elk sign, however, was abundant.
