Plate 603X. Midway Valley 1960 – 2004 Viewed west to the upper end of Midway Valley on the Dixie National Forest. Utah Highway 14 has been improved. Conifers, primarily spruce have increased, while aspen has declined. Many of the mature spruce, however, have recently been killed by insect and disease. The road to Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah Highway 143, is visible in the distance.
