Lava Point Lookout
Plate 1453X. Lava Point Lookout 1957 – 2007 Viewed south-southwest to the lookout at Lava Point in Zion National Park. This lookout was built after an earlier structure was consumed by fire - - see Plate 1452x. The lookout has since been removed and the area turned into a viewpoint by the Park Service. In the distance, white fir, spruce, ponderosa pine, oak, mountain brush, pinyon, and juniper have increased.
