Plate 13. LAKESIDE LODGE: 1930 - 1996 The lodge has been remodeled and the building on the far right removed. Aspen (Populus tremuloides) on the southeast facing hillside above the lodge has increased in height and some clones have also increased in size. The tall dark colored shrubs on the hillside are curlleaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius) which have also increased in height and numbers as would be expected in the absence of fire. Conifers, primarily Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), have grown in height and numbers.
