Plate 60. KINGSTON CANYON: 1916 - 1999 The old wagon road in 1916 is now Utah Highway 62. The foreground appeared heavily grazed in 1916, which is not true in 1999. Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata), pinyon (Pinus edulis) and juniper (Juniperus sp.) have increased immediately above the road since 1916; otherwise the steep south-facing cliffs show little change.
