Plate 871X. Kanab Creek 1939 – 2005 Viewed southeast down Kanab Creek about a half mile above the townsite. Woody riparian vegetation has increased. This includes willows, cottonwoods, tamarisk, and Russian olive. The active stream channel has narrowed and is more stable today than in the past. Sagebrush and rubber rabbitbrush are common on drier sties.
