Plate 484X. Johnson Wash 1939 – 2004 Viewed south down Johnson Wash just above Oak Canyon. Johnson Wash has stabilized and is more heavily vegetated today than in earlier times. Willows, tamarisk, and cottonwoods have increased, as have pinyon and juniper. Wyoming big sage and four-wing saltbrush occupy drier sites.
