Plate 694X. Iron Peg 1962 – 2004 The Iron Peg, Parker Three-Step study site is composed of four transects and associated pellet group plots. Transects one and two are located outside the Iron Peg exclosure, while transect three is located inside the total exclusion part of the exclosure and transect four is located inside the part of the exclosure where wildlife, mostly mule deer, have access, but cattle do not. Iron Peg is about one-half mile north of Pinto Peak. Plate 694x is viewed southwest at the start of the pellet group plot outside the Iron Peg exclosure. Woody vegetation has increased, including pinyon, juniper, bitterbrush, squaw apple, birchleaf mountain mahogany, and mountain big sage. The area is grazed by cattle and is important mule deer habitat.
