Plate 317. GOLD MOUNTAIN TUSHER MOUNTAINS 1920-2001 Viewed northeast to Gold Mountain (11,650 ft) from the ridge northeast of Mount Belknap. Conifers, primarily spruce, have increased in height and density, but upper treeline appears unchanged. Much of the area is naturally unvegetated talus. Cat trails and other mining activity are visible in the retake.
