Description:

Plate 209. GAHEW SPRING 1930-2000 Viewed east to Gahew Spring on the southwest flank of Fishlake Hightop. The water trough in the original was replaced, but has since filled with material washed from the slope. The spring has seen additional development and other watering devices are now available for the domestic sheep that still graze this allotment. Conifers have increased in height and density. The shrub, which provides most of the ground cover, is currant (Ribes sp.). USFS Road 352 is now located below the spring.
