Description:

Plate 328. FOOTHILLS NORTHWEST OF RICHFIELD, UTAH 1959-2001 Plates 323 to 328 form a panorama from west to east in the foothills northwest of Richfield, Utah. Plate 328 is viewed east to the Sevier River Valley north of Richfield. Judging by the sign that was present, this area has not been grazed by cattle for many years. Instead, the area appears to be mule deer winter range. Pinyon and juniper have increased, as has black sagebrush. Green rabbitbrush, Mormon tea, and four-winged saltbrush are also present, as is birch-leaf mountain mahogany on the steeper slopes. Indian rice grass, needle and thread, and blue bunch wheatgrass appear to have declined.
