East Pass Reseeding
Plate 1065X. East Pass Reseeding 1957 – 2005 Viewed south along line one of the Parker Three-Step Transect on lower Pass Creek. The area in the foreground was root-plowed and reseeded with crested wheatgrass a few years prior to when the 1957 image was made. Rubber rabbitbrush, green rabbitbrush and three-tipped sage have begun to invade the site, but the seeding is still largely intact despite yearly livestock grazing, which, at times, has been heavy - - see Plates 1062x and 1063x. Pinyon, juniper, and ponsderosa pine have increased in the distance. The area was actively being grazed by cattle in 2005.
