Description:

Plate 1135X. Delong Flat 1957 – 2005 Viewed north-northwest to the start of the Parker Three-Step Transect in Delong Flat northeast of Sidney Valley. The meadow has not been treated and is mostly native Stipa spp., Poa spp., squirreltail, and mountain brome (Bromus carinatus). Aspen has declined, while spruce has increased. Many of the older spruce, though, were recently killed by insects and disease. The meadow appears more vegetated today than in the past despite yearly grazing by livestock.
