Plate 1176X. Clear Creek 1929 – 2006 Viewed south up Clear Creek in Zion National Park. The photopoint is about 200 yards east of the short tunnel. Utah Highway 9 has been widened and paved. Clear Creek is on the right. Road-fill has naturally revegetated and includes ponderosa pine, cliffrose, and shinney-leaf manzanita. Other woody species include pinyon, juniper, oakbrush, Utah serviceberry, and turbinella oak. Cheatgrass and Indian ricegrass are also present. Woody vegetation has increased in the foreground and near the top of the cliff in the distance - - photo-left edge.
