Checkerboard Mesa

Description:

Plate 1173X. Checkerboard Mesa 1929 – 2006 Viewed southwest to Checkerboard Mesa in Zion National Park. Utah Highway 9 is on the lower right and has been paved. The road-fill has naturally revegetated with green rabbitbrush and cheatgrass. The other shrubs are mostly bitterbrush or shinney-leaf manzanita.
